How are we accredited?
Internal Accreditation New Zealand (IANZ) runs annual assessments to test our quality system’s compliance with the standard.
How do we perform?
As a new entity established in 2006, Aotea Pathology’s first accreditation in 2007 was a full peer review assessment.
Assessment of laboratories may include comments, praise and, where required, mandatory corrective actions. Aotea Pathology has never received any mandatory corrective actions.
- 2007: no corrective action requirements
- 2008: no corrective action requirements
- 2009: no corrective action requirements
- 2010: no corrective action requirements
- 2011: no corrective action requirements
Aotea Pathology is enrolled in 83 external proficiency testing programmes covering all tests we perform. Aotea Pathology rates highly in external QC programmes.
In line with best practice, "uncertainty of measurement" data is documented for all tests with a numerical result that are performed on-site.
